P0315 — Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned

Hello, I am looking for the Cam/Crank sync waveform for this vehicle. It is a 2.4 non turbo PT Cruiser. Vehicle idles fine but starts to hesitate when under load. Crank codes return every time. The crank sensor was replaced and the crank sensor and cam sensor signals were checked at the PCM with a scope. I just need to make sure the sync is correct. I have a feeling the timing might be out. Thank you

If memory serves me correctly, any Cam/Crank timing that even intermittently goes beyond 8.5 degrees while driving under load, you will get "false" codes such as these and down the rabbit hole you go. The slightest of belt stretch (worn timing components) on these 2.4's will drop the power right out of them. Real fun when a semi tractor is in your rear view mirror. Monitor your scanner's Cam…

Hi Javier: Two thoughts come to mind. I see no mention that you performed the crank learn. I see a code that the crank learn wasn;t performed. Guido

Javier; Good morning Sir, i hope this message finds you doing well. Attached is a capture of a Known Good Crankshaft / Camshaft Waveform from a Chrysler 2.4 Liter. Jonathan, Here are my Cam/Crank and in cylinder pressure waveforms. According to me, the timing seems to be ok at idle. What do you you think? To respond to Anthony's question, i dont see an cam crank relearn option on my snap on or DRBIII. Is there another way to relearn?
