New ECM Programming
Would like to know the procedure to program new ECM on 2010 or newer Chrysler. I have a CARDAQ-M and have programmed older ECM on Chrysler.
It is done much the same way. If you have replaced the PCM use a capable scan tool to run “PCM replaced” function within WCM, enter the correct PIN code, then write the PCM odometer within the new PCM and relearn electronic throttle body. Check for updates on Chrysler’s website. If an update is available (you will need a Tech Authority subscription), open the Chrysler J2534 software and select
Also if you open the J2534 toolbox that comes with cardaq j2534 you can select Chrysler and there will be a guide you can follow and maybe a video as well.
Just a side note... if a PCM is replaced in newer Chrysler vehicles (not sure the year they started) the PCM must be programmed first. They are blank and will not accept the VIN or PIN from the WCM until the PCM has been programmed.
That’s my problem it’s blank when I pick the pcm from the list. Do I need to download files From tech authority like the older models? I had a problem on the older models when I updated java. I had to uninstall it and go back to old version. Don’t won’t that to happen again.
You do not have to manually download files on 2010 and newer Chryslers. It automatically downloads them from the server. using a scan tool under PCM read the current part number of your PCM and please Let me know what it is. If the list is blank when you start the J2534 software that usually means there are no updates available. Also what version Java do you currently have installed?
…AC using a Verus. With blank plugged up. Yesterday tried to write VIN from toolbox to blank Ecm. Then went to chysler website and picked pcm from list but all it will show are ???? Where VIN should be.
Thanks for the info. Was able to get it programmed. Simple update of adobe air got it working. Appreciate the response!

Make sure you are not trying to use the leagacy J2534 software. You will need to have access to Tech Authority and download the correct J2534 application. techauthorityonline.extra.chrysler.com/service/mds200…
