Mercedes Unknown Wiring?
Hello Group - I am working on this 2018 Mercedes CLA250. This is a auction car with several electrical issues and multiple malfunction indicators on currently. I have found these 4 loose wires with no connector or place to put them?? they are above the drivers side lower trim panel by the DLC. Due to the wire colors i suspect they are network communication circuits? Can someone please tell me about these wires - Is there a missing a connector body or component of some kind??? thanks for your time.
For the female pins- the grey wire goes in the DLC socket 9, the grey/white goes in socket 10. Not totally sure where the male pins go. Do they reach to the ignition switch?
John thanks for your reply - My wiring diagram although aftermarket shows nothing in DLC #9 & 10 ? Do you have a OE diagram that shows differently? The wires are only about 4 inch long coming out of the wrapped harness no way they can reach the EIS. Seems like a connector of some kind is missing? I would love to find someone that could look at another matching vehicle
Yes, I am using a factory wire diagram. I'll keep an eye out for a CLA to find where those other wires go
oh man, I'm sorry those are the locations for the EIS! Sorry Bill. They go into 6 (grey/white) and 14 (grey)
2 go to the diag. connector and the other 2 would go to the Telematic.
Walter the DLC has wires at pins 6 and 14 already. I was using the same diagram you supplied. in regards to the telematic i don't have any connector or component i can find to put them in…. Looking for some better direction possibly a picture from another like vehicle
Walter, how did you get to this wiring diagram? My experience with Identifix is that they do not have info on Mercedes until they are about 7 years old, very poor.. I put this VIN in and got no service information. Note said wiring diagrams available through Hotline Archives, but I was not able to find them even though there was a tab. Thanks!
I am still hoping to find someone with a matching 2018 CLA to identify what connector maybe missing here. My local MB dealer is also attempting to help but the closest one we have found was a 2015 CLA and the harness is different. Parts department can not seem to figure it out either…
