Software Download Past 6.18

Wondering if anyone out there has encountered the what seems to be pay service to download the latest Bendix ACOM software which until recently has always been free? I have a current copy of 6.18 that is working fine to reach all modules including wingman, ec-80, etc ... But recent downloads have resulted in a read etc only version and now the website is displaying a version called Bendix Pro for purchase? ... I suspected this was coming with the last couple years Bendix going to an "add to cart $0" arrangement for download... Looking for some outside opinion if anyone else has ran into this scenario recently?

The new Bendix ACOM Pro looks a lot like JPRO from the screen shots on the website...

Hi Christopher: It looks like JPRO because Noregon is involved. Guido

Yes I am with you on the JPRO-Noregon correlation .. Does anyone know if the old ACOM is still available , or is the simply now a pay for software scenario?

Have not had to pay yet. But have been having a lot of problems with it. Knew they had changed some things. Did they farm it out to J Pro? It used to be rock solid reliable. Not anymore. We will not be able to connect. Call Bendix. Ying yang around for an hour. Get it working. Try to use it a week later and it starts all over. It's down right now. This is happening on all 3 of our laptops. All…

Hi Christopher: While the past is no guarantee of future performance, I don't think that you'll go too far wrong thinking back to ADOC V14.x or even JPRO v2015.x The next update put a time bomb in them. Depending on which side of the fence they were on, when the software shut down, it was a feature or a bug. For the past 3 updates, I've suggested to my customer to drag their heels on the…

ACOM is now a subscription based software. I believe ACOM Version 6.16.5.1 is the last free version. You can contact Noregon directly for a activation code. I was always surprised on how ACOM was free.

It would be nice if someone would tell that to Bendix Tech support. We just went through this with Bendix less than 2 weeks ago and they never said a word! We just had to re register at that time. Thank you for the update!

- The struggle is real. I always struggle with 3rd party suppliers but I am sure its same thing the other way around. Bendix/ Wabco has possibly the most vague service information. At least when it comes to fault codes/ electrical related items.

I agree on Wabco, I work mainly with their HABS system. Their phone support is pretty bad. Bendix has always been very good at 800-AIR-BRAKE Buttt I have not had to call them in maybe a year.

I agree with being surprised it was always free download , but sure was a solid program.. From what experience I have had using JPRO I have no been impressed, from fake substituted values to very limited bi directional controls... Wondering where did you see the 6.16 free download available? .... If I get a chance tomorrow going to try and get a call into Bendix tech line to clarify what these…

Would this be part of my EZ Tech diagnostic fees/subscription? Thanks

Since Noregon has to be contacted for an activation. I would assume it will not be part of the EZ Tech Subscription. I could be mistaken.

Thought I would update this thread as my last free download Bendix 6.16 finally got taken offline by Bendix a couple days ago... Forcing us to go to JPRO .. interesting side note, JPRO now includes most functions of previous ACOM including EC80 items, wingman, and autovue cameras , also including together with the JPRO lic is Bendix Legacy (in the old format) for the older units out there. So…
