Missing As-Built Data
What repair are you unable to perform?
Perform programming of replacement PSCM due to lack of as-built data
What information are you having trouble obtaining?
The as-built data required to configure a replacement PSCM. The as-built data for the vehicle is incomplete missing data for both the PSCM and ABS.
What steps have you taken to obtain the information you need?
Contacted support via online support form with no response using the support link on the NASTF Ford landing page. A confirming e-mail of my request was received from ….
Rick I forwarded this to our contact at Ford for a response.
… team is aware and has been sent to the responsible individuals for resolution. Will provide an update as soon as I hear back.
FWIW this is not a module that should need asbuilt as the module does not require programming on this year and model. diag.net/file/f13d6pdov…
Thanks Chris. I was able to confirm our log does not contain any config data for ABS or PSCM. There may have been an issue in the past w/ this, but the other thought was this does not require the data. Team is reviewing.
Here is a screen shot of the error. Can you assist further with the issue then as it appears IDS has an error. Thanks,
Got it. Thanks Rick. Poked again this morning for help on this issue.
Rick, please see below response from the team: Found the VSCS’s in the Netcom archive. According to every VSCS for 2014 MY Gas Focus, these modules did not require configuration in plant, or in service. We’d need to know what part numbers are in the vehicle they’re having trouble with, and what DTCs are present. May be the wrong part, a service part issue, or an IDS issue. Is this something…
Jason, Here are the numbers from the log file. (PSCM) Part Number = BV6C-3C579-AD (PSCM)_FILENAME = CV6T-14C217-AD (PSCM) Software Part 1 (F108) = CV6T-14C386-AA (PSCM)_HARDWARE_NUM = BV6T-14C262-AA (PSCM)_CALIBRATION_FILENAME = CV6T-14C218-AD I've included the log file as well. Thanks for the help!!
Feedback: ABS- Low voltage code PSCM has a few codes. Couple lost comms codes and a U0300 – Internal control module software incompatibility. No configuration codes. These modules do not require asbuilt, aside from possibly part numbers which are present in the asbuilt file. The U0300 in the PSCM could indicate the wrong part was installed, or the wrong files are in the part. Could try…
Jason, The error message I sent you first was from doing the PMI. If it requires no configuration, then why is there a PMI and an as-built procedure in IDS? Have you any updates on this issue?
Jason, Here is another IDS or as-built issue. 14 Ford Escape VIN 1FMCU9G90EUB86354. Module configuration and parameter chart says nothing needed but has both PMI and as-built configuration available for the PSCM in module reprogramming. As-built missing data on this one as well. Which is it on this one as well. I'm beginning to think IDS has a major glitch in it. Thanks,
Got it, Rick. I will send this other VIN over also. Suspect there will not be as built data available for this one either. Will poke the individual looking at this for an update and want to run this past our other programming expert to see if there are any other ideas. You may have sent this earlier, but can you tell me what IDS version you are using?
Jason, It's at the top of the log file…123.03. On the second VIN, we did a PMI from the original module successfully and solved the issue.
Rick, Just curious, was this rack from Ford or an aftermarket supplier? OEM racks on these don't normally require any programming.
Chris, Both are OE Ford remans. I am confused myself as well. I have another 14 Explorer being worked on by one of my mobile buddies having PSCM issues as well. Thanks for trying to help!!
Rick, I have escalated internally for resolution. Can you please send me your contact information so we can contact you directly to work through this?
Feedback from the investigation: I investigated the provided VIN: 1FADP3K26EL430267 MY14 C346N As-built According to as-built, no config data for either the ABS or PSCM. There is part number and file information recorded for both modules: ABS – BV61-2C405-NA (F113) PSCM - CV61-3C579-ED (F113) GVMS Looked up VIN in GVMS….same results, no config data for ABS or PSCM There is part number…
Jason and Rick, If I am tracking with this something comes to mind. if these are Ford Reman is it possible that Ford's vendor is sending out a configurable part to cover multiple part numbers and are unaware that the part cannot be programmed in some, many, all situations?
