I'm using witech trying to program a pcm to a Jeep Cherokee that another vin has already been written to it but it's a new PCM. I'm sure I've done it before but I can't seem to find the correct procedure now. I have programmed well over 1000 dodge pcms

PCM should be fine With WiTech. is it not taking it? what pass thru are you using? can try using a cardaq 3 and their j2535 toolbox to do the vin write.

I did not think the toolbox supported changing the vin on can vehicles but I'll try.

1st obtain the vehicle security PIN code. Then in witech navigate to topography, WCM > MISC FUNCTIONS > PCM REPLACED. This will read the VIN out of the WCM and ask if you would like to update the current vin in the PCM. Make sure you read VIN off of the windshield vin tag not the door (don't ask.) Check for updates, run ETC learn and you're done!

I have the pin.. It does not have a wireless control module it has a Radio frequency hub and I cannot find an option for replaced PCM in any module.

I'm sorry, I suppose you're familiar with the pcm replaced then… I would try the j2534 toolbox or APNT tool then? I guess I've never encountered this before.

If it has an RF hub the PIN will not work unless you obtained it thru your LSID

There's no vin change or pcm replaced procedure in witech , I always do it with autel ,go to pcm ,special functions, vin check and change it. Once it has the right vin use witech to program correct calibration

Aside from other tools being able to change the vin, If you “restore vehicle configuration” this should rewrite the vin in the PCM when there is no PCM Replaced function.

If this is a gpec series ecu, you will not be able to change the vin with witech.
