Programming rear wiper motor
Local shop changed factory soft top to aftermarket hardtop and hardtop has rear wiper. They callrc to have rear wiper motor programmed. Customer states rear washer works but wiper does not. I'm not real familiar with Jeep programming, but I do have Witech and Techauthority.
Tried researching but not finding a lot of info on this.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Hi Charlie, I may be incorrect but I believe that the " as built data " for the vehicle must be changed by someone with the specific credentials on Dealerconnect. Then you can perform a restore vehicle configuration routine with Witech 2
Yes, Like Todd said, it has to be added to the vehicle at the dealer (ford is as built) - Jeep etc. is adding the module to vehicle configuration by checking a tick on a screen - most parts guys at the dealer can do it if you explain it to them. then perform the restore configuration for witech to then download to the vehicle that it should in fact be looking for that particular module and it…
I believe you can go into the IPDM and there is a "config" option. And check the box, I even believe launch and autel can do this. I'd verify IPDM is same part in both options.
Charlie, If the hard top kit installed is MOPAR there will be instructions that have "Sales Codes" listed. These codes MUST be added to that Vehicle's VIN by a Jeep (FCA) dealer parts department (typically). Once you confirm that those codes have been added then you will perform "Restore Vehicle Configuration" under "Guided Functions" using wiTech 2.0 That will fix the added accessory problem…
Hi Charlie, If you know anyone that has the CDA application, it can allow you to recode the vehicle to accept the wiper. From my understanding it is the engineering application used to fix issues in the field. If you have the sales code, and an approved Micropod II, you can contact AE Tools and they can add it for a fee. This is assuming the wiper motor has the correct module and communications…
Mopar parts put part codes into VIN. Was able to program after that. Thanks for all the help. Charlie
Thanks to all that responded. Once parts were addedto VIN by dealer,I was able to program successfully.
Awesome info. Who woulda thunk it?
I never woulda! That's what makes DN so great!
