Ford 4500 industrial TLB
Hello DN folks,
I have a 67' Ford 4500 Tractor Loader Backhoe project that I am putting back together for a long time customers wife, he passed away early this year mid project and she want me to finish it out.
Needless to say parts for these are fairly rare these days. One of the hardest things I am trying to find is a used seat assembly. This has an unusual/unique seat that lifts up at the base and then the seat flips backwards to go from driving to being able to operate the backhoe portion of the tractor. A regular generic platform or swivel tractor seat will not work.
I have tried all the online salvages, but most have outdated listing every time I run across them.
This tractor is missing the entire seat base tilt frame that mounts to the tractor along with the seat itself.
I am sure there are some of these that were abandon years ago and just sitting, so I am reaching out to anyone who can help.
Use Massey Ferguson from new tractors same design just probably need some light fab ingredients or John Deere complete with seperate seat is a better design
Hi Manual, This is basically a early model 4000 series farm tractor that was modified back then by Ford for industrial use. The backhoe is a monster attachment added to the back axle housings. There is not room for 2 different seats, but I will study that concept. The big issue is that the operator area is lower than the backhoe operations, this is why the seat frame had to raise and the seat…
The John Deere design is almost like a Bench if you look it will fit this tractor just need to fsb mounting points probably. The Massey design is identical to what Ford did a handle flip the seats around for and up for backhoe work. Massey will probably have the best fitment and easiest fabrication

Hi Marvin, This is a good source for common and generic parts. I am looking primarily for salvage, because this seat design was not made very long. A generic seat would be easy it the backhoe was not a factor.
Cannot help you out with the parts Quest, Just want to say Great on you for this. I have had a few old Fords for customers automobiles, not tractors. Same situation. Farms down here get passed on to the next. Barn finds. Got them running.
Thanks Frank, I am currently focusing on the engine and shuttle transmission operations, but this thing has a long way to go. Practically every hydraulic hose on it will need to be replaced due to age and weather exposure.
Hi Stephen, I have purchased from them before, but I need to call them and see if they might have what I am looking for. Thanks
