Im working on a 2018 jaguar Xe
2018 Jaguar Xe 2.0l turbo
No crank, no fault codes, i can start engine if i turn ignition on and jump to starter relay. but start button does not crank engine brake switch ok everything looks and test fine. anyone have idea why start button will not energize starter relay?
Hi Sali, Did you check all systems for codes? Also try running codes in generic OBD mode. Sounds like a common push button failure. Remove the switch and test the circuits for Ign. 1 and Ign. 2. If the switch tests good, look a trans position switch.
Gleen thanks a lot for tying to help, start button test good also trans neutral switch test good and proper signal.
Sali, If you are able to key on and force the crank thought the relay there is a fair chance that the start request input from the start button is making it to the central junction box but the crank request is not being sent out of the central junction box to the PCM. This is not an uncommon issue as I would see them often at the dealer especially if there was a recent vehicle voltage issue…
Alan Thanks a lot, same i was thinking cause everything look fine but no crank request from BCM-GWM, i have aerologic blue box but my internet cable port is messed up so i cant use Autologic tool to reset immobilizer. i may have to visit dealer with it but yes i can start it anytime through starter relay which it means key and everything is fine but crank request signal.
Sali, More then likely you are going to need to either A. Obtain Pathfinder and a Pathfinder VCI ( OE tool and OE interface) or it will need to go the dealer to perform the Immobilization function/ Target ID sync. Alan
Can the drive pro scantool handle this, with tech support and programming of course. ?
Unfortunately we currently do not support this function. Due to the communication protocol these vehicles are not able to to be programmed via pass thru and will require a pathfinder VCI and pathfinder software local to the vehicle.
