2013 Ford F550 Abs Light On
hey guys i have this truck and the abs light is on checked for codes using ford IDS and found c2778 yaw rate sensor voltage out of range checked for power and grounds going to sensor have them replaced the entire multifunction switch because i thought the circuit board that feeds the yaw rate sensor was bad because i have power and grounds to the switch and still have the same code what did i miss cant find anything else on this sensor and boss is on my butt because i missed something.
Hi Barry you mentioned the code is for yaw rate sensor and the multifunction switch has nothing to do with the ABS for my understanding the yaw rate sensor should be located under driver - passenger seat or build in the ECU, I think you are talking about the steering angle sensor in the steering column, but they are two different sensors that control ABS and Traction control at the same time…
I may be seeing something wrong, alldata is showing c2778 to be - C2778 (Sensor Power Supply Failure)- a continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the ABS module detects voltage that is less than 4.75V or greater than 5.25V. check regulated supply voltage to brake pressure transducer for short or open.
Yaw sensor is typical integral to srs module if power and grounds are good there suggest replacement. The module will need to be programmed also ivd initialization will need to done to calibrate yaw the code you mentioned is c2778 is for a pressure transducer on master cylinder this is a 3 wire sensor 1 the yellow/blue wire is the sense wire check voltage between the other 2 should be 5v 2…
Ok i have tested for power and grounds done every thing by the ford pinpoint f test and all checks out when I unplug the Brake Pressure Transducer sensor the abs light goes out according to Mitchel on demand wiring diagram the connector on the transducer the wires were supposed to be light blue brown in #1 yellow blue #2 and green #three the connector had #2and #1 crossed up changed them around…
ok i got a wiring diagram from ford the Mitchel diagram is wrong put sensor wires back where they are supposed to be still have same code have checked all resistance on wires from sensor to abs module all ohm out to 0.03 sooooo NOW WHAT???????
hey guys im reposting this i have this f550 with a code c2778 sensor power supply started out i used a snap-on apolo d8 scanner to read the codes and it gave me c2778 laterial accelromter yaw rate sensor so i went after that checking all power grounds ref voltages ect all checked out fine so i replaced the multifunction switch reprogramed the sensor with ford ids cleared the coades and rechecked…
To update when you unplug the brake pressure transducer the abs light goes out and the pid for it showes 4.98 volts when I plug it back in the light comes straight back on and the pid reads 0.89 volts this is a new sensor so where am I loosing voltage at in the abs module??
To update on this truck found after checking all wires again had a bad abs module relpaced and light went out. thanks to all for the info and input
