LiDAR, RADAR, CAMERAS, Ultrasonics, are some of the critical inputs used for autonomous systems but it’s how the data is used in order to execute the right actions. Check out this video I recorded this week at SwRI where this vehicle has mapped out road features and is able to navigate this road course with vigor! Mapping road surfaces, what’s next?

I was fortunate to be invited to visit SwRI (Southwest Research Institute) in San Antonio Texas this week with the AutoCare Association to see some of the research going on today and I was highly impressed. SwRI has been doing some amazing work and you might want to check out what they’ve been up to.

I also want to thank the folks at AESwave for sponsoring my travel, thanks Carlos!

This was a specially modified vehicle that SwRI “upfitted”

This might be of interest. A.I. Guy & Mr. Machine Learning, Lex Fridman, Research Scientist at MIT. I've been loosely following him for a couple years, scary sometimes, interesting others... linkedin.com/in/lexfridman youtube.com/watch?v=sRxaMD…

Yeah, Jim Keller was good. The industry jargon was difficult to follow, but I got the gist. I couldn't do their jobs nor could they do mine :O)

Yeah this guy is deep and sees stuff in ways that we can only imagine. However, I picked up a number of interesting points he revealed in his round of responses. Lex had a hard time staying “in-front” for the most part is my assessment, what do you think?

Lex is still relatively new at the game. Jim has been around the block a few times. Not sure if the nature of Lex or his podcast is to stay in front as it's more he's on a mission of discovery, trying to remain open to all points of view and not become argumentative. There were a few occasions where he new better than to counter Jim's comments. If you haven't watch Lex on Joe Rogans podcast. I…

Thanks Guys! From a great piece of information on the advancement of autonomous vehicles I find Moore's law is not dead. I now must analyze Jim's comment : " imagine 99% of your thought process is protecting your self-conception, and 98% of that is wrong." Now what the heck do I do. This car will never start and run correctly.!!!!!!
