Can I Program Factory Fob?
HI all,
Have a customer asking if we can add a new key and fob to his car. he has one existing and working set. I would be getting from dealer. the key seems to be a non immo key as it was only $9.00 plus laser cutting charge.... I have an iscan2, launch, and an x100 pro...(which im not proficient with lol)
Has anyone had success using any of these tools? also if it will work , will it wipe the existing fob and have to relearn that as well?
thanks, worst case I can call my local locksmith, but of course trying to keep in house first.
I guess you didn't see 2013 Hyundai accent with V.I.N.listed at the top of the post.
It wasn't there when Allan Booth and I responded.
Elias, It looks like the YMM didn't post, let us know.
If there is no immobilizer you don’t need to do anything with the key. You may be able to add a fob without a scan tool. Depends on the vehicle..
Jay, do you have a procedure on that? Or is it self explanatory? Thanks
Its self explanatory. If you have bought the USA version of the Xpad (AutoProPad) it includes phone and email tech service as long as the subscription is valid.
To answer part of your question, yes. Adding a key fob will erase the first one, so you need both at the same time.
I just remembered I have a gscan. Hopefully will work with that. Thanks guys
You’ll need a pin code if this is immo equipped , seeing how your in the USA the key is most likely chipless so just go into remotes and follow the instructions. you need to have all remotes present they erase and both will have to be reloaded .
Your Gscan will program the remote. The Hyundai does not have an immobilizer.
They do in O Canada , you guys are lucky but if you can make it thru the pin code process there pretty easy money adding keys to.
