B2204-55

So I got called into look at the vehicle mentioned above. I had a code for B2204-55 ECU Configuration Mismatch in the BCM & several codes in other modules for lose of communication from BCM. (Forgive me I was charging the tool that I used for this vehicle and totally left it at home I will update what the code numbers are a little later) I was also told the transmission had bad shifting problems and the shop didn’t even want to drive it again. It does have a weird shift in the first couple gears but nothing that would keep me from driving the vehicle myself. Last thing is odometer flashes.

Now I have had zero problems communicating with the BCM as of now. I have tried resetting the BCM and then doing the PROXI configuration but that did nothing for me. I looked through the configuration and I did not see any options that didn’t belong also. At this point I am getting ready to hook back up to the vehicle today or tomorrow and see if any software updates are available. If a software update doesn't fix it or if it isn’t available then I was going to recommend a BCM.

Before I do any software updates or even recommend I was hoping to get maybe some more insight or anything else that could cause this code that I may not be aware of. I have the basic understanding of what the code is from Google, Alldata & Prodemand descriptions.

Phil, Is Proxi configuration the same as "Restore Original Vehicle Configuration"? Sorry I didn't get to come back and see you this year. Maybe next year....

It basically goes through the vehicle and see what options are available so it knows what to do with what.

Phil In Witech did you do a full detail report? This will show you if used modules may have been installed. May be the root of your issue or can you post up the detailed report.

I used an aftermarket scan tool. I don't ever use Witech unless I absolutely have too. To the customer knowledge their was no modules replaced and this problem just happened randomly. Of course I will ask the shop if they used, used module but they told me they spent 30 minutes with the vehicle then called me.

I would do PROXI with Witech before you waste anymore time. Have seen AM tools not do a proper PROXI in the past. Your PROXI is not finishing, plain and simple. Especially if the ODO is still flashing. Also I assume you know to do at least a 2 minute power down with keys out of the vehicle for the PROXI to properly finish? Did you do a full system scan? Is that really the only code in the entire…

Caleb is right! I thought you were using Witech. With Witech it reaches out to FCA server to insure the modules are correctly configured and the tool aligns them.

Using WItech 2.0 and I performed PROXI config and that stopped the odometer from flashing. Now that I have really familiarized my self with the operation and seen all of the options in Witech 2.0. Next time I'll see what aftermarket scan tools can do what and hopefully make a post about it.
