14 Mini Cooper DME reprogram
Has anyone else successfully reprogrammed a BMW/Mini using a J2534 pass through?
I have a Bosch Master Tech 2 and according to the website it is compatible with ISTA/P. I have installed the software and drivers for both bosch and istap. Problem is when I select create new session, it does not find the Bosch VCI.
I have installed BMW PTD drivers and selected bosch 6531 from the list. I even tried making the connection wireless from bosch and entered IP address manually, but still will not connect.
Has anyone been able to do it? I don't want to keep wasting time if there's not a way. I don't have access to a ICOM/Next yet.
Wouldn't even risk playing with a j-box. ICOM is less that $600

good evening, it will take forever to go with j-2534, it will be very slow even after you set it up. I learn it the hard way my self. ICOM/NEXT is the way to go. The hot line for BMW OSS SUPPORT IS … They help me set up my j-2534 but it work very slow so I end up over night a ICOM next day to finish the job.
There is a way to use it, if you email the helpdesk they will send you the information very quickly in my experience, sorry I couldn’t find the email with the instructions they sent me.
Need to download the Bosch Drivers for the MTECH 2 Mtech2 v2.4.116.89 Setup.exe boschdiagnostics.com/sites/default….pdf boschdiagnostics.com/software-updat…
You’re going to have a bad time, buy an ICOM and make sure you’re hardwired Ethernet. If this is an F56 or any F chassis, you need further set up or you will brick expensive things.
Icom and laptop must be hardwired to dedicated and specific switch.
