P0600 — Serial Communication Link

No Acceleration

Hello everyone and thank you for reading my post.

I recently got this vehicle that came from another shop with a P0600. I check the Can Bus and seems ok. Also, check the Throttle position sensor, and also looks fine. Does anyone have this problem before? Is it the computer that needs replacement? The engine warning light(Red) is on but The CHECK Engine light (yellow) is not.

I am thinking pretty generic for a P0600 as a no/low voltage condition or one triggered after a batttery replacement or disconnection. Are there any other codes if you do a full system scan ?? Can the scanner see all the other modules on the network and interrogate them ?? I can only suggest this much from a generic approach and take off. Many heavy equipment/vehicles have an engine warning…

Make sure the power and ground at battery, body. There is also a bunch of ground in yhe front grill. Those are the one that usually go bad. You'll see probably 10 and more. I work at a fuso dealer. Start with basic and go from there cause you need sentry software/light duty to get more in depth.

I checked all the powers and ground for all the modules. The Can bus is 120ohm with modules disconnected and the continuity in between wires (Hi and Low Bus) is fine. I don't know what else to check since I don't have the right software and my expertise tells me that one of the modules is bad. Thank you

Any u code we do usually ignore as the way they branch off. I suppose its a duplicate transmission in them. But the check engine light should not be lite up cause of it. Charging system defective or low voltage on start up may cause that duonic transmission to be in safemode. Which does trigger check engine light on. But tcm you need genuine software or maybe texa could cut it

I don't have the Mitsu scanner but I went generic and the only code was p0600. Then I retrieved codes manually, disconnecting the fuse, and had 76 only, which is the same as P0600. All the communication HI and Low are fine, no other codes and all voltages and ground. Im thinking the MVCU is bad but not even the dealer has one. Thanks everyone for your response.

Also, im stuck on a island and the truck doesn't have enough power to get it on the ramp inside the Boat. Which generic scan tool you guys recommend that will do the job to check for communication with modules?

Only one I know of would be texa tool with hd software. Unless you get a clone version but you need the mercedes j-box which is long time discontinued

If your com lines are good and ALL of your powers and grounds going to the control unit are good then its probably a bad control unit. Look for water intrusion, oil or any substance that could affect it. Any access to a wiring diagram?
