Set-up and Use of the VAS 6350 Lane Change Assistance
I missed out on several VAG Blind Spot programmings over about a weeks time. So I pulled the trigger and ordered the VAS 6350 Lane Change Calibration equipment. I received my first call to calibrate one the day my equipment showed up. The setup was pretty straight forward using Erwin OEM Service procedures. There is a center line laser assembly that attaches to the VAS 6350/3 to guide in lining up with the center line of the vehicle. I used tape measures to get the target board close to 1700mm distance, then using the supplied laser measuring device to hit the exact 1700mm from the rear wheels adapters. The Adapters attach to rear lug studs with magnets and hold an aluminum target for the laser to get a measurement from. To perform the calibrations you first need to run a GFF coding procedure. After the coding is done the calibrations start right away with the left side first and then the right side. Completion of the calibrations will give you the results of the Angle Deviations. Spec on this SUV was -4.99 to +4.99 degrees. I had 1.38 on the left and 1.58 on the right. As with any any ADAS calibrations following the OEM service procedures are a must! Making sure you have adequate lighting and a level surface to perform the operations.

The cost of this equipment is roughly $6,000 with shipping.
The first one I did was just shy of 2 hours. After a few more I'm sure I can get that time down to about an hour.
This kit basically covers all VAG car lines that require the static calibration. You will need to look up OEM service information for each application to make sure.
I learned that any rear geometry changes (alignments) will need this and all ADAS systems re-calibrated. Cut a piece of 2X4 to exactly 1700mm to help cut the set up time down.
We learned that if the numbers are in spec, to always attempt to get the adjustment to '0'.
I don't recall seeing anything in SI about an alignment. It would be a best practice to make sure an alignment was performed before doing any ADAS calibrations. This car had already been aligned before I setup my equipment.

I do not know anything about the cars you are doing and the setup but I have to say the Nissan's we spent a lot of time on the setup. Paying great attention to measurement, like a Altima rear camera calibration will not complete if the setup is off at all. So after all the time spent in SI and doing the setup it was kinda a let down to press the start button and the calibration itself takes about 20 seconds
