2016 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L (C L83 Flex) 6-spd (6L80) — 3GTU2NEC0GG297224

Alright we have the above truck that we installed a Jasper Transmission in and needs programed. If I go into replace and reprogram and select that the transmission was replaced it asks for for the TUN number off the transmission, however the sticker is is no longer on the transmission.

A reprogram only was tried and all went through until it got to the fast learn, which failed. The TCM is alive and has as suspected a code 602 for module not programed. This is only the 5th or 6th anything I have programed and am lost as to how to proceed. Any help is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Hi Eric, I think you incorrectly picked the wrong transmission for programming. I think you selected the 8 speed, instead of the 6 speed transmission. The 6 speed selection won't prompt you for a TUN.

Alright, truck is programmed and ready to be shipped. I found a post on the other site by Timothy Mitchel, my error was selecting the K71 Tcm only for programming, I needed to choose the tcm/ecm dual option from the list. Did that and all went well. Thanks.

Yes you have to go under ecm/tcm and then sometimes you can do without RPO and be ready in 7 minutes

When selecting the TCM, it will often show the option for RPO M5U, which is the 8 Speed Transmission. You have to make sure not to select this option if equipped with a 6 Speed Transmission.
