It certainly looks like the plight with manufacturers extends beyond automobile manufacturers and agricultural equipment manufacturers, namely John Deere.

Matt, I did a write up on the topic a little while back. It's a bit muddier than Wired leads one to believe, especially in their other articles on JD and R2R. Yep, read them back when you posted them. I probably should edit my post or have added "real or perceived" to it rather than insinuating John Deere was withholding access. Sorry about that. Thanks for the response!

No worries, for all intents and purposes they are withholding while seeming like they aren't. You just happened to touch on one of areas of knowledge.
