Roberto Diagnostician Massachusetts Posted   Latest   Edited

Hi Everyone. Recently acquired Volvo VOE adapter for newer vehicles.

But, I'm not able to configure my laptops to get VIDA software to see the adaptor.

Any help or advice would be appreciated!!

Thanks

Are you plugged into a car when VIDA cannot see the adaptor? I've had a similar issue, I have to drop the OBD port for VIDA to see it. Doesn't happen on all, maybe half of the ones I do.

How do you have the ethernet cable connected? Don't connect directly to PC, must be to network.

We have helped several of our customers connect the OBD II to LAN, to onboard LAN ports, never a problem, just worked. I am thinking the USB to LAN adaptor is your problem. A diagnostic PC with a native LAN port is preferred. We have been recommending ruggedized Dell's with two native LAN ports and a Fischer connector for our diagnostic PC's, they are great.

Thank You everyone for your replies. Bought an Original ThinkPad Gen2 Ethernet adapter and a fresh install of VIDA. As soon as i plugged into OBD connection appeared. Same vehicle I tried before.
