you can see on the attachment the new and the old pcm.
plz advice.
If it's brand new from Chrysler then it came blank. You need to load the latest calibration via J2534 or DRB3. That procedure you mentioned is only for used pcms.
Chrysler has new PCM available for a 2007? I read everything was reman and (even worse) they were using Cardone like everyone else.
Ya if you can even get one from Chrysler they are remans and they are junk. But in his case they are also blank.
It is possible to get a new pcm for some of the older vehicles. The part number will have a prefix of RL. Rebuilt generally just has an R in front of the part number. The RL prices are outrageous and often more than the vehicle value but have solved some programming and other electrical issues I have encountered.
You got to do it with witech 2.0 to load the software
hi Eddie, witech 2.0 need online subscription to load the software?! thanks
Yes it will be $50 for witech and $29 for tech authority
too old for witech. needs to use drb or j2534 legacy Chrysler program.
To program a blank replacement ECM in a vehicle prior to 2010 MY, first it has to be a CAN bus vehicle. As long as it's a CAN bus vehicle, you should be able to program it with Witech 2.0. You won't be able to program a blank replacement in the legacy Chrysler J2534 application because they didn't allow blank replacement programming prior to 2010. But, you should be able to do this one in Witech…
Yoy need to purchase the software from techauthority.com and then download it and trasfer it to new PCM
To clarify this is a CAN vehicle. You will need to program the module using wiTECH 2.0 software. This is not a tech authority file download. That would be done for 2006 and older model years.
This is a little off topic but does anybody know if there is an outlet that can repair a star mobile tool? Thanks.
