Video: Trigger Fundamentals - Analog & Digital Scope Demonstration

Scott Manager Claremont, California Posted   Latest   Edited

Recently Matt Fanslow and I recorded several videos primarily covering Picoscope. During these sessions we decided to create a video where we walk through setting up an analog scope to properly display its calibration output signal and establishing a trigger in order to stabilize the signal on screen. We then followed this by repeating the process within the Picoscope Software application.

For anyone that‘s experienced difficulty in setting up triggers, we believe that you’ll find this information beneficial. If you have any questions or comments please let us know.

Help Needed . . . When I try to watch the video linked to on this page, when I click the start arrow, the video goes to full screen, and there is considerable judder and lag in it when it plays. I have deleted the browser cache (Google Chrome) and tried everything I can think of to get it back to its original size, but cannot. I know I have tweaked something that is causing this issue but can't…

When it goes full screen, what happens if you hit the Escape key?

Nothing -It stays at full screen. Also, other videos that have been posted on DiagNet play fine, as do others from other sources. BTW, my default video[player is VLC Media Player. Thanks again!

Do you see this icon in the lower right corner, and if so, what happens if you select it? It's supposed to exit the video from full screen. (Though it's also weird that it's immediately launching this video for you in full screen, that's typically not something we would have control over from our side.)

Tom, Yes - that icon is there and it in fact brings the video back to its original size and - gues what - NOW it launches at the correct size, and maximizes and minimizes as it should. Thanks for your help - it appears OK now!
