2013 Dodge Dart Aero 1.4L (H EAF) 6-spd (DE1-C635)

Had kid call today asking if could install a used abs module I stay away from used modules on newer cars but the kid is in school and paying for it out of his pocket. Anyone had any luck doing used abs mod in these? I assume since service info calls for a proxy alignment it’s not possible to use a used one. Thanks for any help.

I think you'll be fine. Can't say I've done that YMM but I've had good luck on that year range of FCA vehicles. You'll most likely have to do proxy and a setup procedure that includes a quick drive cycle. If the top of my head I can't remember the name of the procedure but it is in misc functions.

Sorry bud I tried a few weeks ago and no dice. You can probably try it I've heard people have done it. But it didn't work for me.

Unless you have some kind of aftermarket tool that can erase the vin currently in the used module, you won’t be able to use a used module. You will end up with vin mismatch codes in various other modules. FCA is not used friendly, and GM is Headed the same way.

I think you should be fine. I have done it on Toyotas but it has to be the the same part number and the same year and model. at least that was my experience on a Toyota Tacoma.

chrysler Is not like Toyota, unless you have a way of wiping out the vin, this will not be possible and you will only end up frustrated.

One thing for sure is that if you want to help this kid, at least you can try to do it for this kiddo, and if it doesn’t work you already have warn him about the situation. I have been able to do use PCM on newer Chrysler, and it has been successfully. BCM, or IMMO thief modules have not been successfully at all. Good luck!!

We have replaced ABS modules on … Chrysler minivans with used ones with no issues so far. Our Snap-On scanner has been able to write the vin and configure the module. We actually got a used pcm for a '13 Dart and weren't able to get it to work properly. The car would run and drive, but SES light is on with vin mismatch codes. That makes me wonder if it's cause we tried replacing a PCM…

Ok so the kid took a chance. Bought a module same numbers. Brought it to be I don’t a proxy align with a Autel 906bt and all is well other then the dealer was wrong didn’t fix his problem. Had a bad wire left rear wheel well. I fixed it and sent him on his way. Thanks guys
