Loud knock from engine, believe upper end

Knocking Noise From Engine

Vehicle was brought in with a loud knocking noise. Sounded like probable upper end noise. Removed the valve covers and found a failed rocker arm on the rear bank. Replaced the rocker arm and now it has a loud knocking that will come and go. Sounds like a lifter but scared to rev engine to try to prime the lifter. Anybody had similar experience with these engines?

I'd want to make sure the base oil pressure is adequate first and then check supply to the valve train
