Looking for feedback on the x tool nitro scan tools

David Owner/Technician Minnesota Posted   Latest

Was looking to see if anyone on here has one of the new nitro scan tools yet. They have all the key programming ability of the Auto Pro Pad plus the diagnostic side also from what i have read. The Auto Pro Pad seems to have a lot of people that are happy with that tool, but there isn't really much info out there from people that own the Nitro. Any feedback on it would be great.

I had the auto pro pad and after 3 times sent back for warranty and still not working right I decided to sell it for cheap. Funny thing I tried to post a negative review and never showed up on the website from the supplier so don't just go based on reviews

I would say that they have improved over the last 6 months. I have been using the tool for two years. It has it's quirks like having to start the OS before connecting tool to vehicle. Maybe , but since new it was hit and miss more miss than hit. I kept it for a year, always updated and wasn't happy with it. Maybe like you said it has improved now. Thanks for your feedback

David, I have had a Nitro tool for over a year now. When I first got it, it was like, Meh, it is OK. Soon after it was released, a new product manager came on board (Jay Buckley) that pushed engineering to improve the tool to be more competitive. In February, I took it to the HQ in Las Vegas and they did some major updates. All of the sudden it was no longer a Dud. I used it on a Mazda and Ford…

Auto Pro Pad (speakingmon behalf of the $2000 tool, not the lite versions) has what appears to be a full diagnostic scan tool included. It behaves much like Autel and is surely pirated/cloned software. I have only tinkered with it as I keep the APP for immobilizer related functions and have better tools for day to day diagnostics. Also the weak design of the cable connection concerns me enough…
