Component Protection Active

Anyone use the Launch Pad V to code Audi/VW/Porsche modules to disable component protection? If not, has anyone used any scan tool besides VW ODIS to disable and code modules with active component protection?

No aftermarket scan tool that I'm aware of will deal with component protection. If there is one, I'd love to know about it.

AVDI does some CP work I believe but I've never used it personally.

Component protection is a live interaction - its not really possible to do it with an independent tool. That said, one-off Chinese GEKO/ODIS subs are so cheap, it doesn't really pay to have a “real” tool to do it unless you do it every day.

Abrites, odis and vcds are the only ones that I know of that will remove component protection. Which module are you working with trying to replace?

You might be ok for the amplifier but to be honest I would not attempt the gateway without odis geko I did a q7 gateway after another facility attempted with aftermarket equipment and my words after initial diagnose full system scan was “I need a Bible and a bottle of bourbon “ and I was using odis the setup programming, configuration, coding and initialization has to be done perfectly or there…
