Crank No Start
I have a 1992 950 F Loader that ran fine then the starter went out. We replaced the starter wouldn't turnover, then found the two circuit breakers were corroded out we replaced them. The engine still wouldn't crank, found that the S-wire wasn't hooked up. the tech who installed it wasn't the one who removed it plus it was tucked away and the terminal was missing. Was at the machine with my new guy had him repair the S-wire and put it back on wasn't watching him. I went to crank the engine over he had the S-wire on the wrong side and fried the ground wire from solenoid the the starter housing. Replaced ground wire got engine to turn over but won't fire. Replaced fuel filters tired again could only get it to run with ether. Had my mechanics check for fuel from the pump and got nothing. The pump has a solenoid power to the center pin and showing ground at the two outside pins. Looking for either a wiring diagram or any guidance would be greatly appreciated
Try providing direct from battery power and grd to that solenoid. Unhook the wiring that is on it now so nothing can backfeed. Did you headlight (load) test the power and ground circuits at the solenoid. There may be corrosion there. You should hear the solenoid click when you power it on. May need bled if fuel had a chance to drain during filter change. When was the last time it ran? ALWAYS…
Good tip… but on the fuel pump solenoid you may not be able to hear it… sometimes with fingers on it, when activated, you may be able to feel it. Is this a rubber tire backhoe?
Does have rubber tires. Just not a backhoe machinerytrader.com/listings/for-s… I would think the first one would scrap out for more than asking price. Labor cost might be to much.
Time they sell it I imagine it's going to fetch closer to the 2nd one's price.

Cat 950F Loader - This solenoid is a magnetically latched solenoid, it has three wires, One is from the Key Switch. One goes to the starter S Terminal, and the third is a dedicated ground circut. I had service calls all day on Monday. Glad you got it figured out. Some of the loaders have a timer on the shut down side of the key switch, so it wont pull down the batteries overnight if nobody shuts off the master disconnect switch. Again, Glad you found the issue!
