BMW e60 odometer
Hello,I'm buying BMW e60 2009. it has unbelievably low km around 20000. is there any way to know if these are genuine mileage? thank you
Nothing like a good old fashioned look around to see. There are many tools today that you can use to manipulate mileage. I would look under the valve cover to see what the drive train looks like. 20000km should look almost new
There will be a red dot on the cluster if it was replaced with a used one and mileage does not match in the back up module. but I agree with Ismael 20k should look brand new in many places
A look at the service data can indicate battery replacement, number of oil services etc. Also a general look as others have said is a great indicator.
Get a car fax on it any repairs at dealer and many shop report to that system. See what was done the date and milage
I'm going to take a wild guess here-doesn't Alberta have emission inspections? There's your elapsed actual mileage if so.
The vehicle mileage is stored in multiple control modules throughout the vehicle, and if any of these are replaced (like the instrument cluster) with a module that does not agree with the others on total mileage, a small red ‘manipulation dot’ will appear near the odometer display in the cluster.
