Gm programming failure
Acadia sent over for programming after used car lot installed new valve body/Tcm. Replaced do to setting multiple solenoid faults was reading out codes. I am using cardaq m and dell laptop with windows 10 software. Go in and go under seq pcm/tcm programming. pcm is pulling up latest software so go to the tcm, All show unknown part numbers. It downloads very quickly to the laptop and loads all the information to module according to progress information, After everything is loaded it does nothing for a minute or 2 and a message pops up stating Unknown error during service programming event. I've tried this 3 times all with the same result. I did once get a box that popped up stating E4491, E4423, line 20 1A 31

I'm not certain how to reach Gm technical assistance or how to pursue this. Any advice or direction on how to pursue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Tony
Hi James, I believe you'll need to call Cardaq/Drew Technologies for assistance on this, as you are not using a factory tool.
Gm tech help number was what I needed. I called and it turns out they installed the wrong part module. They will give you assistance if you are using a certified jbox. Also have to be using the correct software. Thanks for you help
Are you saying this is resolved, and the issue was that; The module installed on the vehicle was the wrong part # ?
Hi Geoff: It's real common. I try to get my trans shop customer to understand the value of collecting the information from the old module BEFORE doing anything. The transmissions are pretty much the same. The electronics changes things. Alas, some would rather rip & tear. HTH, Guido
I don't doubt it happens, I'm clarifying if that is what happened HERE. On the other side of the coin; ESO ordered a wrong BCM once, no clue how, I caught it before calling Kabel, so I ordered the right one. When it got here, Kabel came out and the ESO gave him the wrong one anyway, and it programmed without a hitch. Neither of the BCM had the same P/N as the original either. I think OE's…
I wasn't trying to lead you astray, but it was my understanding that GM usually will direct you to the manufacturer of the "J" box for ANY issues you run into. I'm glad it worked out for you.
Thanks for offering help. Gm tech help gave me no problems answering questions. You just have to be using their recommended hardware and software. I just couldn't find the number any where.
The times I ran into that is always the wrong part # installed. Check the tcm part # then go to tis and with the vin see if it matches.
You can't program used module on this one, this is probably Global "A" vehicle GM so you need to install brand new parts.
Hi Leon: There were no Global A vehicles in 2008. Guido
Thank you, I think there's more to this than just that. I can't communicate at all with it to pull any numbers or information off of it at all.
I have programming GM modules with my cardaq M for years with no problems. Unlike Ford's I have never had to injest the data from the old module. The only mistake I seem to make all times is when first connecting to the vehicle. You have to pick replacing module not reprogramming module. I would have to save a couple screen shots for everyone. Anyways when you do it wrong it won't give you the…
