I am still having trouble with this site finding the correct place to post. What tool are you using for key coding and pulling pin codes? Thinking about Getting the 608. I have many of the factory tools.

I have the im508 and it does everything I need. Actually if your doing it for the keys then get the 508 and order the xp400 seperately and it will do everything the 608 does. Unless you're needing a scanner as well

I agreed with Benjamin. The IM508 is perfect for key programming. Less expensive but you didn't get the diagnostic tool.

Sometimes the diagnostic side works better for programming keys, especially on Fords.

The main thing that the Autel IM608 can't do is program BMW and Mercedes modules. It will work on vehicles up to 2021. You will need a subscription to Autoauth to get into 2017 and up Chrysler vehicles. I use it as my main diagnostic tool and pulling pin codes. I have ran across some older vehicles that it would not pull the pin codes.

I use the IM608 daily. It works very well. It will pull the pin codes from most vehicles. Sometimes I run into some cars that it won't pull the pin. It will do diagnostics as well. I do programming and diagnostics between my equipment sales and also an Autel distributer. I would be happy to talk to about the different tools. …

The IM508 works very well on Chrysler Vehicles. I have had it not pull the pin codes on some trucks. If I remember correctly they were older trucks.

The im tools are good. If you just need key programmer the the 508. If you want the diagnostic side the 608. Now if yiu get the 508 you'll probably want the xp400 pro And the accessories. But the question is, how far do yiu want to go with immobilizer stuff?

I can't comment specifically on the 608 but will mention that every Autel I have used or owned has given trouble with updates. Either icons simply changing colour, the language changes after an update, or with the Autel Maxisys after the first update it lost all the Toyota abilities. We had to pay a years subscription to do another update to get that working again and then when we checked BMW no…

Normally this is caused by trying to load too many updates at one time. These issues can be corrected by deleting the car line app and update, but you have to be in a current update subscription.

do not get the Autel to complicated, lack of direction, and no training on use available. I have both and the X-Tool . the X-Tool is a way better tool simple strait forward. It also does instrument clusters mileage and more you must always have internet connection and current subscription. and the X-tool is cheaper to buy $2000.00 EST. and less for subscription.
