Anyone using Nissan CONSULT-III R2R?
I recently licensed the Nissan Consult-III Right to Repair version and found that the app appears to be missing the ability to record data. I'm interested in hearing from anyone else that has found similar issues with the app.
I recorded a short video highlighting this and have since filed a NASTF SIR as well.
Contact kieth perkins he does a lot of nissians
I have had zero luck recording anything with it. I also tried saving a post scan file for a body shop to email to them. It didn’t work. I can print the report but can’t save it to email a copy. What is so frustrating is the buttons are there, but don’t do anything. I will say the R2R Consult 3 plus has helped me fill a gap. However, I am very close to pulling the trigger on buying the full blown…
I will try to upload a video this week when I am with some new Nissan or Infiniti vehicles.
Thanks for the feedback Ben. On the report, I just printed to a PDF and saved it. On the buttons that are ions, are you referring to this screen:
Scott thats a eye opener....what else is missing. Good documentation.
No, the shot you have shared is the customer report. I have found the customer report looks fancy, but lacks some info. So I usually print the standard report. I tried to save and email the standard report last week and had issues. I ended up using the windows snipping tool and saved the pages and emailed them to my customer. The report I am referring to looks like the attached.
It’s not that this can’t be emailed, but the file has to be converted to a pdf. I ended up using the windows “snipping tool“ and emailed the report.
Ok, I was able to print that as a PDF. You should be able to set that up on your machine as well. Here's the copy I was able to generate from this vehicle:
FYI, I purchased a genuine Consult III from Bosch Service Solutions that was bad out of the box. Now they are telling me there are none to be had in North America. It is no longer listed on the Techmate website. Not sure why.
Back in 2017, Nissan reported at the NASTF General Meeting that the R2R version was going to be a full dealer-level support tool beginning November 2018 (Here's the video clip:) Scroll up to 7:48 if that link doesn't automatically take you there. I remember at one point that Nissan reported that this J2534 version would become backward compatible and perhaps that's why there's a shortage of…
Great eye, Scott. Definitely not surprised that you found that.
Adding an update to this thread due to a new development, I‘ve been told that the ability to record data was removed because the J2534 device won’t support it according to Nissan. Additionally, I recently updated to the latest R2R version and now the VIN is not able to be read from the vehicle. This is what I reported to Tweddle/Nissan support on 10/27/19: ”Hello, my name is Scott …. This…
