GDS2 Error: "The system cannot find the file specified - javaw.exe"
Good day all,
In an attempt to update the GDS 2 I ran into an error "The system cannot find the file specified - javaw.exe All other ACDelco programs I am running on this laptop work as they are supposed to, including their "Techline System Analyzer", which ran and claimed all is good.
I have tried everything I know to resolve it except calling the helpdesk (as suggested when I e-mailed them... "The issue you are describing is not handled by the ACDelco eBusiness Help Desk. Therefore, please call ACDelco Aftermarket at …, Prompt # 2 for this type of assistance").
Before I do, I was wondering if someone else has already resolved this problem?

What version java do you have installed?
I have not had that issue. Take a look at my JRE files maybe this helps I do not see a Javaw.exe just javaw. Let us know whats going on.
Possibly like Ben said - check your Java.. I updated my GDS yesterday with no issues..
Jamie did this happen when updating your software or when renewing the lease? LMK. I renewed my lease and updated my software no problems..
There is an GDS java that needs to be installed. I had to call and have them remote in and install it. I can see if they left the file. it was an easy fix for them

BTW, I advocate against security software or firewalls when using these types of programs. All it takes is GM making a change or the security vendor doing so and your day
Guido, For my own edification, can you clarify a bit? I run a designated laptop for certain applications as many here do. I use a dedicated wireless hot-spot that is used for nothing but the specific laptop; are you advocating something similar to this or perhaps a different way of doing it? I'm interpreting your statement as just making sure you quarantine your programming from your business
