07 Mini Cooper
Vehicle came in with a seized vacuum pump causing the exhaust cam to stop jumping time and bending every exhaust valve.
I got it all back together. Runs great code "2885" comes up, i cannot find any info on this code whatsoever. I looked Mitchell, alldata, and identifix.
Code description on scanner says "air charge control plausibility"
I used common sense, I checked to make sure I didn't have anything swapped ie. Vacuum lines, connectors. All ok and piping all tight
Used hand vacuum pump, on Wastegate, moved. Operated with scanner no vacuum. Found melted hard line, blocked solid, replaced, now code 28aa came up took out bypass valve and it was in pieces, snapped all back together and inspected diaphragm ok. Actuated just fine reinstalled.
Now the 2885 code is back, again I don't have any guidance on what this code means
I just found another post on here about this code so disregard I'll go read
The 2885 code states - Charge-air pressure control deviation, plausibility. Data I found has many potential causes from vacuum lines for the waste gate actuator, the actuator, the temp/air pressure unit on the intake side, valve cover, even the turbo itself.
Yep, someone posted a link to an article that was loaded with info. Im going typ look at the blow off valve again seems very common to tear. Even though I didn't see anything before maybe I overlooked
Were All adaptations reset after service?
