NASTF meeting coming up to push back on MB
Hello all!
I got a call from one of the NASTF board members yesterday. He was looking for input for a meeting that is coming up in two weeks. Specifically he is looking for any Mercedes-Benz subscription users, J-2534 or full tablet subscribers that are not so happy with the way Mercedes is treating them. He would love to gather up as many relevant cases as possible.
Quite awhile back there was a DN user that was upset with Daimler and wanted to gather up a group to put our complaints together, to build a forum of dissatisfied subscribers. I would love to hear back from him. This is our best chance to push back.
I am talking about failures to log in with real user names and passwords. Denials of service with no justifications from mother Mercedes. We have had no troubles yet, but we sure freaked out this morning when our logins did not work. They easily reset and we are back working, but we have heard some horror stories. Several users have been shut in the last month or so, Mercedes has detected grey market or “clones” on several shops networks that was also hooked to their authentic system! Others have supposedly been instructed by Mercedes to reload the Windows OS and do other remediation's that took hours and often left them without full functions, some have just been disconnected for weeks at a time!
So, please fire up your engines and be part of the community in this rare chance to push back and be heard!
Send your stories up on this forum if that is allowed, or PM them to me and I will forward for the NAFTS meeting.
Thanks all! Have a nice weekend.
Hello Tom! Thanks for a great forum! I clicked on the link, thanks, it says I am subscribed! Should I have put this up there?
If you're specifically targeting only NASTF members, yeah it might be a good idea to post there. If you're trying to gather info from everyone, even non-NASTF members, then here is fine. You could edit your original message to add the NASTF user group to it, but keep in mind since the group is closed, other DN members will need to subscribe to that group first to read the other replies and…
I would be pleased to make known my dissatisfaction with MB in removing the J2534 option from Canada. They shut us down a year ago with virtually no notice. Our only option is the OE Tool at $22k plus $9800 per year for a subscription. Nendless to say, many of us no longer do any work on MB vehicles
Matco has a new tool that may make a huge difference up yonder if that's the case. Remote programming via the ProAssist device. Just thought it may be a good option.
That would be an option except that my service is mobile.
DETROIT, May 17, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Matco Tools has announced a partnership with Opus IVS, formerly known as Drew Technologies, to launch the ProAssist remote diagnostic system through the Matco Tools distribution network. ProAssist delivers IVS 360 live vehicle diagnostic support, Remote Assisted Programming (RAP) and a CarDAQ J2534 pass-thru interface, all in the same device. So, Matco is…
Opus is available in Canada, however, it requires a hard wired connection. For us mobile guys J2534 isn't an option
Paul and all, A little clarification. NASTF has 3 Team Service Technology calls a year and 2 in person general meetings (Naturally they have been virtual lately) We are holding a Team ST meeting Next Wednesday. These calls are attended by automaker members and technician members (although not as many as should attend) These meetings are intended for the purpose of discussing issues such as…
