Driver Door Will Not Lock Or Unlock And Trunk Opens When Any Button Is Pressed On Key Fob

B1108:77-48 Driver Door Central Locking Motor

B1142:13-0A Ignition Status 1

Hey guys got a weird one here.

We put an Engine in this vehicle about a month ago. Vehicle came back for its 500 mile check up and now the Driver Door will not Lock or Unlock electrically.

The Trunk opens whenever any button on the Key FOB is pressed and whenever driving down the road when the Door Locks would normally lock the Doors the Trunk opens then too.

I'm pretty certain the Driver Door Lock Motor is bad but i've never seen the Trunk act this way.

If the Unlock Button is pressed on the Key FOB the trunk will open and the latch stays engaged so that the trunk will not close.

If I press the Lock Button or the Trunk Button the Trunk will open but will close.

I'm going to start with the Driver Door Lock Motor and testing power to the Body Control Module on the Ignition Circuit, but I don't think it's going to help with the trunk issue.

The only other possibly related code is a U2101:00-0F in the FCDIM Module for Control Module Configuration Incompatible.

Have you checked to see if the door lock motor is getting power when it is supposed to ? Do the other doors lock properly ? Looks like a fairly simple circuit to troubleshoot before just throwing a motor at it.

I will be verifying the door lock motor failure before replacing, we just stop and alert customer/get more time to disassemble anything so I'm waiting on that. The rest of the doors unlock but will not lock. When ever the lock button is pressed the horn chirps twice, the trunk pops and no doors lock.

All of the “lock” wires look like they are connected together so if none of them are locking I doubt that it is the front door lock motor. But you never know :)

Weird problems like this are usually from broken wires touching each other. Check the driver's door wiring where it bends, and check the trunk wiring where it bends. I bet you will find broken wires in one of those places.

Hello, I had a 2010 Town and Country that did this same thing and the metal contacts in the buttons on the fob had come loose and moved to where they were touching other spots in the fob. once I glued them back in place all worked just fine.

Thanks for the help guys I got this one fixed by chance. The two codes was for Driver Door Lock Motor so I pulled Door Panel and Check Power and Ground at the Door Lock Motor when Locking/Unlocking Doors. Door Lock Motor had power and ground. I also could hear the Door Lock Motor click when pressing the Lock/Unlock Buttons. So I was going to recommend a Door Lock Motor for the Driver Door once I…
