2014 Mazda CX-5 GX 2.0L (E) 6-spd (C66M-R)
Vehicle Struck By Lightning
No Communications
Security Theft / No Start

Auto shop called me to come and program a PCM on this ,and like many times before I used j2534 and programmed everything no problem. Problem started upon when the parameter rest function is required which triggers a nastf d-1 (no problem I have lsid) but upon the OEM page for incodes it states an SSU incode is required along with PCM incode. Not really sure how to complete this function as the OEM page will only compute for PCM and not SSU.

Anyone ever see something like this before or ever done one of these? The SSU is the start stop unit (ignition start switch) As far as the PCM's status, it communicates and now sets an immobilizer active code but I think thats because the parameters need reset. I have a direct request into the manufacturer to clarify and will post when I get an answer.

Thanks

Dual outcode systems will require two in codes for access. Are you using MMP? IF so does it show both codes? Each out code should generate its own incode. I'm not 100% sure which vehicles require it, but I have come across vehicles requiring two codes.

Im using MMP 112. win7 32 bit. Yes it is Dual incode but ow do I get the second incode for the SSU? I tried the same page as the PCM and it fails to compute the incode all together. Says "Failed- please call for tech assistance" But only for the SSU. Thank you

I am not totally familiar with the Mazda screen on their website. A had a tool at one point that would calculate in/out codes (wont work after 2010) and the OEM site at the dealer was different than the "retail" version. If you are referring to the screen in MMP, After selecting parameter reset, answer yes when it states the module has been replaced, Key on and MMP should give you two

The problem is on the Mazda site at the incode page. I did one for the PCM and then another for the SSU but the SSU outcode wouldnt compute to an incode. Was totally fine for PCM and went right through. It's like the SSU outcode was wrong or the server couldnt cross reference it over and said failed. I can try it again and take pics if it fails again.

You should have gotten two outcodes, one for pcm and the other for ssu. On the Mazda site get keycode for pcm (you already figured that out) for the ssu do pcm again using the ssu outcode. I did a 2014 and that is what worked for me. Hope this helps.

Well I did that and it failed and said "error please call tech assistance" and I tried twice. Doesn't mean anything so I will go back and try again. I was trying to confirm my execution procedure was correct as there is no ligature about it in Alldata. Might just be a glitch in the matrix but I was already 60.00 for incodes. Thanks

I returned today and got the vehicle going. I will post a narrative about it but wanted to personally thank you for the call. FYI the gift you gave me didn't work. It says "Sorry" on both single and dual. I will keep it around for a while and try again.

If your gift is what I think it is, it works until 2010 model year. The newer ones won’t take, I’m guessing a different algorithm is used to compute them after that.

Okay, so I returned to the vehicle today and got it going. I want to thank all who responded and came to the aid. What I learned was a couple of things. 1. I had FJDS installed along side of MMP (I know better but didn't catch it) but that wasn't the problem and it did work but I corrected that issue. 2. Do not turn the key off while doing the conversion. 3. And the root cause, the NASTF

Where did you get incode codes from? I have 2017 Mazda 3, need incodes for pcm and ssu.
