I am replacing the VSA module in this vehicle. SI says I should check to make sure the VSA is equipped with the latest update.
How can I find this out? Ive spent the last 30 mins navigating the HDS system and cannot find this information.
Anyone have a path I can follow?
I don’t do a lot of Honda’s but I believe if you go to J2534 rewrite it will bring up VSA if there is an update.
I think Julio is correct. Its in a separate application than the Scan Tool part. It should populate a list of programmable modules, and will warn you if you attempt to program an up to date module.

Oh, well thanks anyway. AD has the same info, but it doesn't help, maybe because I'm using a Jbox instead of a Honda interface.
Only other suggestion I have is to open Honda download manager, select file, check and install updates to make sure everything is up to date if you haven't already. There have been a lot of updates recently.
Yes sir we did that. Took quite a while since the last time I use this program was 6 months ago.
If the last time you used iHDS was 6 months definitely make sure you follow all the update manager leads you to do. If you already downloaded them contact tech support they are pretty quick at getting back to you. I wish I had a better answer but sometimes you just have to reach out to tech-support. Hope you get it fixed , your paying for tech-support when you subscribe may as well use it.

the programming portion of that you can download it , if you do not have it I can share that with you I have the latest vercion available prior they move to on line module programming
Go on that screen not on the iHDS before you get to the scanner screen you have a screen that says ecm software update hit start select abs/vsa and the iHDS will automatically search if an update is available

When you first launch the software main screen says connect to vehicle, store data playback, settings, etc (do not) connect to vehicle, choose the J2534 rewrite icon that will take you to that screen
Do not hit connect to vehicle choose the j2534 rewrite option

You need to reinstall software and let it know which J2534 device are you using call iHDS aftermarket support they can remotely log in your laptop and fix the issue … iHDS support you will need to download bomgar for them to log in your computer

Thank you all for your help. We spent almost 30 minutes updating the software before we could even launch the program and we assumed we were up to date. After searching around we went back into the HDS download manager and found another update for J2534 re-write. That solved our problem. Thanks again guys!! Hey Rudy, I'm glad you got it figured out. I see you have an active subscription with Autologic. For future issues, submit a technical support request and one of our Honda technicians could help you out. They would be able to log into your PC and fix whatever issue you're having.

When I have my PC on, even if I’m not using HDS, I get a screen that pops up and tells me to update HDS, j-2434 re-write, etc... my PC was set up by AE Tools, maybe there is a place to turn on automatic updates??
