I have engine light on with code 1897. I can't find anything on this code. Checked the battery, alternator, starter, everything is good. I cleared the code, and it comes back after 2 or 3 miles of driving.
Did not see much on this code either, maybe try to go generic OBD and see if it pulls a P code.
That is going to be for the AIR sensor . its located in the radiator. Benz sells it separately. Hard to take out. So be careful not to damage the radiator. its also called a catalyst air sensor. Edit, just saw the pic. That code makes no sense for starter ops. Does the vehicle have starting issues, weak start etc?
Like Ken mentioned, this is for B11/15 (PremAir sensor) in the radiator. forget the starter message, your scanner is wrong.
PremAir sensor A… $150 part with a $550 core charge.
