Used ECU re-flash
Good morning,
we have a VW with a bad ECU. The car would not crank, the aux. fan ran at high speed with KOEO. We checked power, ground and communication to ECU and determined that the ECU had failed. We initially purchased an ECU with the security deleted and were able to start the car. However, there were multiple fault codes because of the tampering with the security and we decided to send out the original ECU for repair. We were told the ECU is damaged beyond repair. Our question is whether anyone knows a company that can virginalize a used ECU for this car that we can program and code later or our only option is a new ECU from the dealer. Thank you for your time. Have a great weekend.
Send us the original and we can clone the original onto another unit. That would make it a direct swap …
All you need to do is code the used pcm and it should work
You will NEED ODIS for this process, A used ECM should work (unless the car is an MQB platform and has component protection). You just need one with the EXACT same Partnumber. You will need to perform the following. - Immobilizer relearn/ECM replacement procedure - this should learn the immobilizer and allow VIN rewrite - Manually code ECM using Old ECM coding- or SVM online coding of AW01-…
That you all who replied. I forgot that cloning is an option. Steven from ECU connection offered that first. We plan to call him to find out more. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for the business Mihail, we‘ll get you taken care of.
Can install used ECU and program with ODIS. Recommend matching part number
