Hyundai Sonata Immobilizer Programming
hello all, i have a 2016 sonata hybrid that was towed to shop. they lost their smartkey and require a replacement. I have a autel im608 to do the programming of the new smartkey but i cannot cycle the ignition to the on position due to no programmed smartkey. is there another way to do this?
Save yourself time and just call a locksmith. You will need a pin code.
The Autel can extract the PIN number. Run the Immobilizer hot function. You will press the start button with the actual smart key when prompted ams it will wake up the car. So, no - don't call a locksmith unless you don't want to be paid.
Hey Rob. Give me call at … or reach me at … so I can help you more easy way because I do the alot all the time here in my shop.
What Jeff said. plus i have the habit of turning ON the Hazard lights to wake up the BCM. The Autel should read the pin number.
Keep in mind that the customer ‘Should’ still have a door key….and therefore may still need to contact a Locksmith
If you don't have a basic $300 Chinese key lathe in your arsenal, you are doing yourself and your customers a grave disservice. That said, you can just take the key blank that came with the new fob and their door key over to Ace Hardware and have it cut for $10 instead of giving a locksmith another $150.
