No Mechanical Liftgate Release??!!
Hey guys. I feel really stupid asking this but I am not sure what else to do. I have this 2013 Volvo XC70 with an inop power liftgate. I have the code listed above. All the liftgate open/close switches and buttons work and give correct inputs to the Power Liftgate module. I also verified the valet mode switch works correctly when cycling the mechanical key in the glove box lock cylinder 180 degrees. I dont need help diagnosing it as much as I cant figure out how to get the gate open to do my diag. There is no mechanical release inside on the interior liftgate panel. There is no pull cords behind any covers on the inside of the rear quarter panels. There is no lock cylinder outside around the touchpad. Anyone know if there is a manual liftgate release/open procedure??

Please let us know how you managed to solve this issue with the tailgate
I didn't want to break the interior paneling. After messing around for an hour I went and got the service advisor. He jumped in the back with me. He just grabbed the panel an yanked. I took a screw driver and manually pried open the latch paw. As near as I can tell there is no mechanical release. I cycled the liftgate closer motor latch switch myself once I had it accessed. The liftgate worked…
