APIM module programming
An iPhone cord was connected to the USB in the media hub and the phone end went into the round 12 volt power point ,getting the ground in between the USB and the APIM very hot frying the harness and APIM. At first I got a message on the screen to enter wireless provisioning or bezel diagnostics after selecting provisioning I get this, in the photos below ,also trying to do a programmable module installation it ends at the initiate oasis. In as built the APIM is not in the list. I see that it can be programmed using ids with a vcm and a thumb drive going through the usb, but can independent shops access the oasis website. By the way I am currently using a car-daq m.
Yes you can access through motorcraftservice.com under OASIS tab then choose sync and follow instructions.
Thanks Julio I'll let you know how it works out!
Short term subscription at motorcraftservice.com is cheap....$40? You will need a usb cable that is male male, or a USB adapter that will change female to male. Takes a while to program, suggest a maintainer. Also, due to your circumstance I would be concerned the media hub and cable to apim is damaged. If you have an problems programming I would replace it first. Just like Julio…
If its like the 2012 era you will need a special male to male usb cable and a usb stick formatted correctly. It’s a very specific operation. If you’ve never done one plan on 2-3 hours to read up on it, research it and do it correctly. If you miss something you can do it over
Thank you very much for your input I have not had the chance to get back on the car yet but hope to soon.
This can be bypassed by plugging directly into the APIM itself instead of the harness. The connection is a USB 2.0 Mini Type-B 5-position (this was the standard small USB port before micro came along).
I have tried this before and from my understanding, yes, the aftermarket can access OASIS, but you must use a VCM II as it's the only device OASIS will recognize to finish APIM configuration. This was a major hangup for us and we unfortunately never found a workaround using a CarDaq-M or MaxiFlash.
Can anyone show me where the oasis tab is on Motorcraft service.com
You need to click service info and buy a script for SI ($21.95). It's inside of that subscription.
