2008 Mercedes E350 Wont Go Into Gear
Hello all one of the shops next to mine replaced a transmission in this 2008 E350 , transmission wont go into gear i.e. if you put the selector in “D” or “R” it won't move . I did the learning function for him and it worked once only then went back to not moving anymore so I repeated that and only worked once .
The transmission was a used one so im not sure if any coding needs to be done .
Any help would be great .
Thanks.
Sounds like the control module inside the transmission needs to be programmed and coded. You can shift to D or R, but the transmission won't do anything if it isn't programmed and coded. You could swap the original mechatronics/valve body back into the used transmission, but how do you know it's any good? One of the mobile programmers on this forum probably knows more about this. I rarely do any…
Used transmission do not work on MB cars without hooking up with some clever shops that can magically remove the VIN. If that is done correctly, it looks like a new one to the Xentry/DAS Mercedes software that will need to be applied to this job. Then it is initial startup and gear selection teach in. If you have access to an Autoland Scientech i Scan 3, they can hook you up with one of there…
Valve body is trp. Replace valvebody new and program with xentry factory software
Transmission module needs drive authorization data reset….. Once you do that you can do programming, SCN coding, Personalization and range sensor calibration. You can send me this module and I can reset drive authorization and then perform programming and SCN coding online, on the bench. The only thing you would need to is personalization and calibrate range sensor.
You have to reuse the control unit and it should work, just teach in the gears. While you are there make the engraved valve body numbers match.
I'm sure if you ask around your area, you will find someone that clone the used 722.9 ,VGS3 conductor plate. As long as you still have the original one. Its easy with the right tool and knowledge. I do them often. with the right tool. no programing/SCN coding/personalization is required.
Hi I just did one a month ago. I used the Autel IM608 to renew the TCM and the ISM. You need the original transmission to read the data and transfer in the used one. Then you do the personalized settings, write the VIN and activate. You write the Back-up coding back. You may find YouTube videos on this. Hope this helps.
