Smart key program
2015 Nissan Rogue, custumer tells me that the vehicle was stolen with the key.
Now he bought one smart key at the dealer and would like to get it program, I’m thinking no big deal.
start the process with consult3, goes through the process, when it pronts you to touch the start button once, and wait for the ignition to come ON, it never does. Has anyone run in to this before?
I check the neutral position switch data, and all looks good there, I was thinking that maybe when it got tow might have damage the neutral switch, but don’t look like it.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Hold the start button in for a couple of seconds if u just push it once it won’t come on
Yes, if I hold the push button it will come ON, but does not what the tool says, it will not learn the key. It is suppose to turn by it self, otherwise it won’t learn the smart key.
Last time I ran into that it was a bad bcm
I’m thinking the same BCM. thank You Ricardo
Is door closed and hazard lights on to wake up bcm ?? Try holding prox key for more than a sec
Hi Edgar. Yes door is close, and the hazard flashing lights are ON.
Same proble last week with same model did the same procedure but with Abrities AVDI Tools Just send 12 volts in pin 8 of dlc for wake up and after put hazard light and after just continue the learning process
Non seulement toucher le bouton pendant le processus mais appuyez et maintenez le bouton de démarrage avec la clé intelligente pendant le processus
Did you touch the start button with the key with the emblem looking to you? Was the second key present inside the car?
Yes, I follow the instructions on the tool, consult3, all the way. But at the end the key is not learn. I check part number, but is the right part key. No other key is available for the vehicle
My experience is to have the hazards on during key learn, and use the emblem on key to perform the pushing of the start button. Also, are all the antennas working? I have seen Key System Failure display on dash as a warning message and needed to fix those issues first
This is what I’m thinking that there is another issue with the system, but I can not see what it is. I scan the whole car, no codes present
I'm sorry I am not familiar, but is there a data pid that shows the ignition being pressed? Like a GM showing ignition switch position?
Oscar- do you have an Autel? Try that. Ive used it for '13 and '14 Altimas. (I know you have CIII,but it isnt working,so thought Id give another idea)
Thanks Rudi. Yes I have the autel elite. Im going back tomorrow, I will post with an update.
Oscar, Do you have Consult 3 or Consult 3 Plus? Reason I ask I remember there were issues with programming … Rogue vehicles with certain C3plus versions. What tool and what version are you using?
Hello John, I have the 3+, 94 version. I went back again today, and I replace the BCM unit, programmed, key was able to also program. I only have code P161F, and B2192, and no matter what I do , codes can not be clear.
You need to match I'd bcm-ecm
Ricardo, all the step have been completed, but no changes.
Ok , last step in the procedure is ecm replacement, since is a theft recovery I would check all signals at ecm , cut wires etc before ecm replacement
Oscar, Was BCM new or used? Did you do configuration? If so did you do it with taking information out of old BCM or FAST link file to new BCM? Does vehicle start and run now? These two codes usually are a PCM malfunction.
Hi John, yes it’s a new BCM, did the configuration using the old BCM, transfer to the new unit. Car starts now, but it shuts down . To me it needs a new PCM, will wait for insurance to authorize the new unit.
Oscar, I agree. Nissan since 2011 ish or so utilizes VBC( Validate Before Crank) incorporated into NATS. So the fact that you are cranking and those two codes walks you towards a PCM replacement. Make sure to copy calibration data or take a screenshot. No doubt this will be a Blank PCM and having the correct calibration will save some time no doubt. Keep us posted.
