Motor Age Subscription

John Owner New York Posted   Latest

I have been trying to renew my Motor Age subscription now for almost a year unsuccessfully. I was sent an email last December to renew my subscription and I filled out the survey and received the notice that it was sent. I then noticed I did not receive the magazine for awhile. I then resent the subscription survey back and got a confirmation that it was received. Months went by and still nothing. I then reached out to a couple of people directly involved with the magazine. They put me in touch with some contact people and many emails and phone calls went back and forth. Still no magazine.

I get the emails about new product information saying I am valued subscriber but no magazine either printed or digital. I reached out to my contact person again who put me in touch with supposedly the subscription department. I was told that they would take care of it and it would be fast tracked that was back in July. Again, months went by and no magazine materialized. I reached out again wondering about the status of my subscription. I again was told I would be receiving printed copies. That was 8 weeks ago and still nothing. My emails are now not being answered.

I have been more than patient. This has been going on for almost a year. I have been told that Motor Age has been bought by another company recently and things are less than organized. I have been told by multiple people that my subscription has been rectified but still have not received anything.

I have been a Motor Age subscriber for years and never had issues until now. Anyone else? Or, is there someone who can put me in touch with someone who actually can fix this. Thanks.

I stopped receiving it quite awhile back. Not sure why, I always renewed and had been receiving it for years as well. Now I’m intrigued to pursue it again

Do you have a brick and mortar commercial address? My theory is they are cutting off all non brick and mortar commercial addresses.

Justin, That is my theory as well. I am toying with the idea of opening a new subscription stating I am a 15 bay super shop and see if I am treated the same way.

I agree. Contacted them and was told I would be receiving my printed copy, though they say I have been receiving it right along. ;-( Nothing to date and that was months ago.

I’ve been trying to do the same numerous times. I’ve renewed online I’ve called still no luck I’ve been reduced to stealing old copies from shops I service. Lmk if you ever get it straightened out.

Motor magazine stated December is the last month they will be sending out a printed magazine. Sad. I have read that cover to cover since 1984.

John, Yeah, it's sad that everything is going digital. I like to have the copy in my hand. Like you I have been reading Motor magazine since 1984. We “dinosaurs” are being pushed out I guess. On a brighter note I have never had an issue with renewing my Motor subscription. This latest issue with Motor Age has left a real sour taste in my mouth. It seems I am not the only one this is…

John and all of you that have had issues getting Motor Age… I, Brandon Steckler, and our managing editor, Krista, are doing all we can to resolve these concerns for you. Our print subscriptions are, and have always been, limited to shops that meet certain demographic criteria but even if you don't qualify for a free sub, they should be offering you a paid subscription or a free digital…

So I have some answers for you… As I said earlier, we have always had minimum criteria in order for a shop to receive a free subscription. After all, it costs money to get great content, pay our contributors, pay the printer, and finally, pay the mailman to deliver it to your door. We earn our living by connecting you with the aftermarket and OEs that want to do business with you - so thank…

Pete and others, So after two weeks of no return emails from Motor Age I received an email this morning. This email is now from another customer service rep and she is saying I do not have an active subscription. Even though I was assured by two previous reps I did and would be receiving my subscription shortly in paper form. She is prompting me to re subscribe again. She also includes the…

I agree completely with everything you said here. I never have been given an option to pay. I also didn’t get a personal call from Brandon.

Hi Justin, it’s been a long time my friend. John had reached out to me several times. If I had known you had an issue, I would’ve definitely done the same for you. In the future, feel free to reach out to me anytime, you know that.

John - I can only apologize for your experience. And I can only ask that if you, or anyone else, have a similar experience - please let Brandon or I know. Neither of us is directly a part of the subscription department but we can push a few buttons to let those in charge know there is an issue. Neither of us is hard to reach…
