GDS2 and SPS2 Techline Connect Interface

Travis Mobile Technician Wisconsin Posted   Latest

It would have been really nice if you could use GDS2 and SPS2 together at the same time. From what I am able to gather, this can only be done if you buy into the complete Techline Connect package that includes SI. Does anyone know if the Techline Connect package includes unlimited VINs to program or are they still charged per VIN?

It is still per Vin unless you are on certain ACDelco fleet setups.

From me perception the only change is the way to launch the programs.

GDS2 is only the diagnostic scanner side of GM like tech2win Only. SPS- Is programming per Vin and yes it’s still per vin through TLC. you seem new to it if I were you I’d buy the ford vcm3 and you can still use it on GM and Ford But you can’t use GM MDI on Ford. it’s prob the best way to go.

Nope not new. I always hated how SPS wasn't connected to GDS so you would have to back in and out of programs to flash or pull data and codes. With the new Techline Interface I was hoping it would all be interconnected. Some of the supplied images show everything working together with even a topology diagram of modules but for me it isn't. I have to launch either SPS or GDS and I can't have both…

Gotcha wasn’t insinuating anything by it. Just wasn’t sure, with gds2 etc and agree but I don’t use the diagnostic part much to be honest. just sps. I think they are working on it still trying to get it better. TLC not sure if that was a step forward or backwaled yet.

yes you can do it all per year basis unlimited VIN . or per vin basis ,depending on your economy situation,. for me is better per vin subscription. i recently work on a 2021 that need it SPS Programing and the MDI 2 with tech line connect was a great option. much faster and stable than before . it will ask you to shut the car off and then it will do the programming process .

The $4000 a year package is all the cars you can handle. GDS and SI all on one platform. You can have 4 windows open at once. So if you do about 70-80 GM’s a year plus get GDS and occasionally get SI it’s the same price. It’s all together, you do not need to buy any other subs. If you’re serious it’s what you need

Here is the link that shows the full capability of Techline Connect. gm-techlink.com/?p=13859 Notice at the dashboard screen (1st image) it says across the top - GDS SI SPS . My dashboard will only display SPS or GDS but not both at the same time. I pay per VIN SPS and pay GDS yearly. I was hoping I could use both together so I could check a system before or after programming. I…

Travis, if you get the whole package, is all included, and you can used GDS simultaneously with sps, and no limitation on how many cars you program.
