Convince me to Check out the iSCAN3

Travis Mobile Technician Wisconsin Posted   Latest

Been doing a lot of looking into this tool, a lot of the info out there is years old. I am a mobile tech. My area is mostly domestic and asian. Not a ton of Euro but they are out there. With what I have now I don't think this tool will help at all on domestics. I have a Snap-on Versus, Autel MS909, Launch Diagun V, and Vagcom. I see more VWs and Audis then other Euros with BMW being 3rd.

I do enough Nissans and have had good luck with a Cardaq +3. You can't buy Nissan's latest interface yet and I am wondering how comparable the iSCAN's new Nissan emulated interface works? Can you program modules other then PCM and TCM in 2017 and older with it using Nissan's R2R program? You can't with the Cardaq as far as I know. At the moment I don't think I see enough BMWs and MBs to get the iSCAN3 from a business stand point. But maybe you can convince me it will fill other holes that I have in my tooling, there are a lot.

Those that have held both the iSCAN3 and iSCAN SF, which one would you get?

Anything else anyone can add would be great, I am really on the fence.

Thank you.

Travis, I currently have an iscan3, it does very good for BMW, I can program almost anything, but if the CIP is newer than the one on the iscan, it would not do it. MB definitely at this time is not working as you would want it to do it. Foreing vehicles it does ok, it not the greatest. I don’t used the tool as a j2534, so I can not really value the tool on this area. This is what I can say…

Travis, If you are looking to use this tool on Nissan, last I checked, you cannot buy and activate a Consult 3 Plus subscription without having purchased an OEM tool first. So this tool even if it emulated the VI3 is not going to work. The cracked software is not reliable. FYI, your MS909 is soon to open up remote programming. You will be able to hire an Autel Remote Expert to program the…

Travis, I own it (had the iScan2). It is not our 1st go to tool but it seems to always work when the others dont, It has some MD truck functions that work. Seems to relearn the Nissian throttle bodys when the others still wont. Resets the supercar oil resets faster. Has some GM and Ford functions that work faster than the oe tools. We refer to it here as the gap tool. The support is very good

Hi Travis, The biggest portion of our work is ADAS and programming and we have OE tooling for most vehicles. I bought the iSCAN3 SF earlier this year to fill in some coverage holes. The tool is good at what it does and seems to be a great company. However, relying on an aftermarket tool the type of work we do is challenging. I rarely use the iSCAN. Back in March, I did use the iSCAN with the…

I think your question would be best answered by calling Auoland Scientech and asking them. They are the ones who make the Iscan. They will give you the best info. Google it. They are based in Austin TX
