What repair are you unable to perform?

Variant Coding of the SCC.

What information are you having trouble obtaining?

Technically no issues with finding information, only lacking capability.

What steps have you taken to obtain the information you need?

Subscribed to Kia Service Information, and the R2R J2534 Diagnostic Tool. The option is there to read and then change Variant Coding, but doesn't seem to work properly. The dropdown is available to Enable or Disable a parameter, but changing the selection does not change anything in the Setting Value.

(Optional) Any other comments or concerns?

If there are issues with allowing anyone to subscribe to J2534 Diagnostic Tool and then change Variant Coding I would think this is where a VSP should be allowed to use the VSP subscription to allow us to do so.

Matt, Thank you, There are some issues with some vehicles in the J2534 package. I will provide this one to KIA. We have another sent to Hyundai for a similar issue. More details when I get a follow up.

One idea is for manufacturers to have a list, hopefully not very long, of any known issues or bugs. So, in my case, if it would have alerted me to issues with Variant Coding, that would have saved me a fair bit of time. Just a thought. Thanks!!!
