BCM Drama
I have replaced BCM with new Dealer part. During initial programming, process got stuck with no communication. In this I realized, Cardaq M doesn't work on Med Spd CAN. I was able to finish the job with my VCM 2 ( I know should have used it to begin with, brain fart) I have been able to do all relearn and TPMS etc, but the above codes remain. I tried doing an individual As Built install and another PMI, (saying no when asked was I prompted by another module) both with same results. All programming has used As-Built data. Do I need to warranty this BCM? Please help.
Also, I have 2 keys and both are programmed to start the vehicle. On the old BCM, I had done the PATS key erase and used these same keys with no issue, and no B10A9 code.
The U2100 will not clear until all DTC's are resolved and On demand self test has been run. Is this a B10D9? I may have missed it but I do not see a B10A9 listed for a 2013 F150
I attached the FJDS and Autel screens of codes. You give me hope if I resolve the B10A9 then the U code will be satisfied.
Program 2 remotes to the vehicle (may require purchasing 2 IKT keys) or you can try to remove the keyless entry through forscan if its listed. Once the remote code clears run an on demand self test of the BCM and it (U2100) will resolve. Still not sure why the code is not listed in the OEM manual.
Currently Identifix website is down, but they show this code as I remember seeing it several times in my research over the past week with this truck. ProDemand does not acknowledge it, neither does MotoLogic
You have integrated keys or remotes? You need two keys, and two remotes. If the integrated key didn't program the remote, you can manually add in remotes. Make sure both keys and remote works.
Remote and key are separate. I have one key the dealer made for customer and one of his original keys. There are actually 3 keys total, I just called customer and asked he bring me the 3rd. Maybe I don't have individual key signatures and 1 is like a clone? I am not fluid in this, but I have had much more
There is a pic in scan data that will tell you how many keys are programmed.
Only during the PATS key programming. All I have now is a truck that runs with 2 different keys and these codes and courtesy lights that continue blinking with key on/engine running
Courtesy lights that continue flashing....I've read that one a few times, but can't 100% remember what it's telling you.... Maybe....Have you programmed all the TPMS sensors? That might be it. No you said you did that. Are all the remotes learned? Edit: Not sure who flagged me "not helpful" but his fix was adding a second remote, so my question, "are all the remotes learned" was spot on. It…
Yes, the only remote I have was learned, and 3 total keys were learned. this vehicle was brought to me originally with this key separate from fob configuration without these codes. It had even been to the dealer recently for a new transceiver repair, and they programmed the keys and maintained the separate fob.
Where was it ever said the M has troubles with Med speed CAN?
I have read this and the way I chose to understand it/remember, was that it was related to the M. Reading again now in response to your question, I realize it technically can apply to any J2534, simply because I am using the FJDS software. I switched from the M to the VCD2 because it froze during programming and stated it could not communicate. The VCM2 has been successful (according to the…
Odd. In that image above, it say's you can't do BCM with FJDS. Is that a screen shot from the Drew Technologies Toolbox?
MSCAN modules are hit and miss with FJDS and most passthru's. If you have a VCM2 use it and it will work with all the modules listed in FJDS The FJDS limitation is due to it lacking CEI lock configuration and some other setup functions. Some scan tools have them, sometimes you can utilize FORScan for those as well. If you cant fully do the process they will not endorse that it can be completed,
Yes it is toolbox screenshot. First time trying my Cardaq to do Ford's. I used to but the IDS annual software, but didn't have the demand to justify for awhile now.
Bms reset and door lock configure and tpms relearn and program 2 keys with the key fob buttons and the configuration code will clear
I had the same situation on a 2011 F-250. Do you recall if the programming went through? Not the as built coding but the programming? On mine it attempted the first time and then told me I had to do as built again. I inputted it first by inhale / exhale, then copied from network, then manually inputted. I loaded IDS on a fresh install win10 64bit. It attempted to program again and failed, The…
Mike, did you see his comment that he also has "courtesy lights that continue blinking with key on/engine running". I know that means something on these. TPMS learning not complete, or remotes not learned?.....something not finished. IDR!! :-)
Geoff, Yes, even after the CEI unlock and key and fob learning plus self test, mine flashed the dome lights. There were also some lighting codes in the BCM not present in the original. On mine it was a dually (F-350 my mistake) and did not have sensors. It was not until I was able to complete the programming until it all settled down. You are correct that the dome light will flash until you…
The lights will continue to flash until there are no codes in the BCM. If there are any DTC's they need to be resolved to complete programming. After an ondemand self test comes back as pass, the flashing lights should subside.
Chris, in conclusion I have found this statement correct, no codes means no more flashing lights!
I had one on a 2012 F250 that was just like yours. Went back to 116 and programmed fine.
Michael, Way to think out of the box. When you had issues with V117 did you call Rotunda Support? If so, what was their reply to your issue? Did you file a SIR with this issue? The reason I ask is it seems that there has been some more hiccups with IDS lately like we experienced last fall. I would like us to stay on top of the us so we don't experience the absolute ridiculousness we had last…
HI John, I suppose I have just given up on the OEM. If it don't work I just look for a work around. What once used to be rock solid is now unstable. It would be nice to have some TSBs coming out to us letting us know there are issues and what is being done about it. It seems like the simplest solution would be to allow the last stable release to work along side the latest version for the newer…
It seems to me that you don't have the correct keys, As far as I know this truck has key and remote as one unit. Just make sure you use 2 keyless key remote, FCC CWTWB1U793, Good luck.
We use to save money by using a transponder keys and not using integrated keys. The BCM would program the keys, but then you have to go back and add remotes. In IDS it will show what has been programmed.
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to put their thoughts and experience into this, all of it helped me grow and learn and fix this bugger. I am humbled by the final repair, as it seems to have been staring me in the face all along. I want to first acknowledge the several times it was mentioned, this truck has the wrong key/fob set up. Because this truck came in with 3 good keys and an…
If you ever have an aftermarket integrated key with the remote not working after programming the key, performing remote programming may fix it too. We use to get some cheap integrated keys, that may been just a transponder key and remote built together (different from OEM)
