2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty XLT 6.8L (Y) 6-spd (6R140)

Hi all! I'm looking for help programming the BCM on this F550. Vehicle was diagnosed by the owner for a signal light issue in the rear and brought to me for BCM replacement and programming. Thought this was a hole in one as I've been getting more and more confident programming with Ford.

Problems started with out of date software, updated to the 116.05 with the known programming issues, back to 116.00, then to 116.06 finally to be told windows 10 home would not support this anymore.

Purchased Windows 10 Pro and re-installed 116.06 and got a step closer to programming but when confirming the vehicle I get a testman error … Ford tech support suggested an issue with the PCM however I can communicate with it and the only fault found in it is for configuration with the BCM.

I'm at a loss here, hoping someone may have some more experience with a similar vehicle.

I had issues over the last two days with ford and their "tech support". Are you using FJDS(if so which pass-through device?) or IDS?

I am using FJDS with a Autel MaxiFlash Elite and a Snap-On PTP2. Both have given me successful results in the past.

Did you choose Maxiflash pro in the FJDS options menu?

if your using fjds you won’t be able to complete the configurable Engine immobilizer relearn . So in my opinion being as your having these problems you should punt it to the dealer and save yourself the headache . I had to send it to the dealer but I will be purchasing a IDS module soon and I’ll have that function . FJDS is a watered down version of IDS .

I was able to do the PATS relearn with my Autel MS906 actually. It took the 10 minute wait but I was able to do keys and parameter resets once I was in.

Nice . Then you should be good to go . I only have a snap on scanner and it doesn’t offer the CEI . so I hit a wall . I will be getting IDS functions soon .

Good to know . I was looking at the maxi elite . Or IDS module not sure which to purchase . The ford module is cheaper .

Roy, FJDS won't allow the security function or you are not registered with NASTF? I think with IDS and registration to NASTF, you still need to subscribe the IDS for the year to do security. Kieth's post seems to imply he could if he was prompted to enter his NASTF. Is an Autel J box in Fords list of approved hardware?

According to the tech support rep I spoke with this afternoon the Autel pass through is approved. It's also one of the options to choose from in the FJDS toolbox.

I recently replaced a BCM on a Ford f250 newer body style . I can’t remember the year . the only issue I encountered was the CEI relearn . Other then that security was not a issue and the truck started and ran fine . The only concern was the interior lights would not stop flashing and codes for Incomplete reprogramming . I am not currently registered with the NASTF .

My first snag, while using FJDS, was not being able to establish communication with the PCM. Had perfectly fine communication with my Maxisys Elite scanner. I found that issue to be when I selected my passthru device(maxiflash elite) I should of selected maxiflash pro. Once I changed that in the FJDS options menu I established communication. The rest of my issues were trying to do a parameter…

Any chance you got a backend file issue. There may need some security features that may need to be turned off, to go any further. I just had a nightmare going through time, I am very updated with the new software. It took a little out of me.

Man, I have a special hate for that screen... Almost a whole days worth of work messing with that exact same issue. I know EXACTLY what you mean when you say it took a little out of you!

In the end all worked out, I had access to get the old keys programmed, just remember program keys, then a parameter reset. It will bring to the screen for the LSID sign in. It takes 3 mins. I had a great computer person from ford programming help me through. Yes if need to install Windows 10 pro, you must Uninstall FJDS (completely) and reinstall the program, if all the security settings are…

If you are going to do more programing. Buy the ford rotunda ids modual.I never have a isseu since I bought mine.

Has anybody suggested Forscan​.​org I fix a lot of F series BCM configuration errors with it. It is only 10 dollars for a year. They give you a 2 month full license for free. try that first.
