Radio on lock
Hello, I got a truck in today with the radio locked and the customer does not have the code anymore. I retrieved the 6 digit number from the radio and called my local dealer to get the 4 digit code, but somehow they cant figure out how to get it for me. Any ideas where I can get it? The number is 652 663
Thanks Matt
Matt, I just ran into this exact issue. The 800 number GM had, is no longer in service. I also called AE tools/computers who also reached a dead end. I tried my local dealer, who referred me to the 800 number, no longer in service. Customer purchased and installed an after market radio. Let us know how you make out. Wish I could be of help.
Just called, yep no longer in service.
By any chance does the vehicle still have its owners manual?Being 20 years old I dought it but if it does then the security code is either stamped in the cover or there is a little sticker inside the glove box where the paint code is.Hope this helps
GM changed the process, they now have specmo.com in charge of the Theft Loc codes. I haven't had to deal with this personally but I have been told you need to have someone with an account with them call to get the code to unlock the radio. They have a support number on their web site but I don't know if they will help a random caller, shop or otherwise.
Haven't used them in a long time, but have had success in the past with radio-code.com They currently claim "prices start at $12.99"
They are a little out of my price range, I typed it all in and it showed it cost $500 or $525 for express service....
I got it resolved, called specmo and 2 minutes later I got the code ready to rock, thanks guys.
